“Moth ball MODE”.
I.e. no apparent activity but ready to help any new Humanist arrangement that springs up in Berkshire.

We are confident that something will arise, Phoenix-like, in the near future either as a completely different newly formulated Berkshire Humanists OR as more local groupings such as WINDSOR & ETON Humanists, MAIDENHEAD Humanists, NEWBURY Humanists, SLOUGH Humanists, READING Humanists

A group of “Humanist friends in Berkshire” will continue to meet mostly in their own homes around Reading but with occasional outings. Do join us.

The previous secretary will keep open these existing modes of contact indefinitely.  If necessary, you will be re-directed to the best possible contact.

The membership secretary will keep the existing data base intact. Previous members will be asked for their permission to pass on details.

 The monies of Berkshire Humanist will be held for at least a year for any future start-up. After this period the monies will be transferred to a nearby organisation with similar aims to Berkshire Humanists.

Humanists in Berkshire have vacancies to replace existing officers or start new groups in any area.

Vacancies have arisen for a SECRETARY, CHAIR and Committee members for Humanists within Berkshire as from Jan 1^st 2013. The previous incumbent has moved on to a wider expression of his beliefs. A lot of help will be available to the person or group of people who will take the group or groups in new directions. A separate membership secretary will continue to deals with first contacts and maintaining links with over 150 Berkshire residents. The past group has some notable past members, took membership from Humanists, atheists, secularists, sceptics or no particular belief. It never turned anyone away unreasonably from those who are just seeking a new belief and has no initial bar on any background, age or life inclination, seeking only to find common ground. Local development initiatives with Reading’s other voluntary groups has been operating for three years and there exists an informal link with one hospital. This group had good relationships with the local media and other groups in Berkshire which have similar objectives. It was a partnership group of the British Humanist Association. Affiliation with other organisations was under consideration. Any new secretary would be expected to co-ordinate other volunteers to take on roles as other officers.

WEB ADMINISTRATOR(S) required as soon as possible

Web Administrator(s) are required to manage Humanists web sites within Berkshire. The last incumbent for Berkshire Humanists was awarded a prize for the website design.

The Key Skills that are required for the existing WORD PRESS website are listed below but any similar and equally effective system and skill offers would be considered. The old group would cover initial running and incidental costs
